Mudgee Meet Report
by Elaine
Cool nights and frosty mornings, with a hint of mist on the river, didn't hinder the mob that went to Mudgee.
Not only were there a great number of Baby Boomers attending many other "grey nomadic" types joined in as well.
The Mudgee Riverside Van Park was an ideal venue with a fully equipped camp kitchen including a great fire pit which didn't stop burning for the whole seven days we were there and was the hub of all our activities.
The "Alfoil Beanie" brigade were out in numbers and some very "chic" designs in evidence. The "band" played on with it's own gypsy dancer and the choir was in full voice.
A surprise visit by "Borat" fully togged out in his "mankini" was the highlight of the party night.
The Mudgee Tourist Bus put together a great itinerary for our "Winery Tour" and our driver Brian Munns couldn't have been more helpful. Door to door service and local knowledge ensured a great day for all of us, not to mention some great tasting wines.
The question everyone asked when we all went our separate ways was "WHEN'S THE NEXT ONE?"
