Mudgee Meet 3rd May 2010
Mudgee first week in May.
We plan to be there on Monday 3rd for as long as it takes.
The venue is: Mudgee Riverside Caravan & Tourist Park,
22 Short Street
MUDGEE. NSW. Ph: (02) 6372 2531
I have spoken to the Park Owner and he advises as at today there are plenty of sites available.
They have a very large camp kitchen and they also have a CAMP FIRE PIT, great for happy hour and night caps, chat and sing a long if you are in good voice.
They don't require any deposit but bookings are very advisable. You nominate a time of arrival and if you aren't there within a reasonable time frame of the allotted time and someone else wants a site then they will be given the site you booked. Fair enough I reckon.
Mudgee is a Wine, Wool and Honey town on the Cudgegong River. They have Bowls, Gem Fossicking, Gold, Horse racing, many scenic drives, Swimming (but in May it could be a case of bring the welder) Tennis, Vineyards and many winery tours that can be arranged
A tour of three local wineries, an olive grove and honey producer and other venues yet to be advised, has been arranged for Wednesday 5th May. This is a full day of tasting and tempting at a cost of $50 per head. Please let me know if you wish to participate.
The town of Gulgong is not so very far from Mudgee and there are many points of interest in this old gold mining town, museums, cafes, etc.
Rob and I have booked our site and have made a point of telling the Manager, Russell, that we are part of the Baby Boomers group and if you tell him the same we can all be within CooEe of each other.
If you choose not to book a site then I guess you take pot luck, the choice is entirely up to the individual.
If you have any friends or rellies that might like to tag along, why not extend the invitation to them as well. All the more the merrier.
Now for the big question: TARIFF: $26.50 per night but if you book for 7 nights you only pay for 6.
If the numbers are sufficient and I have prior confirmation that you will be coming alonga further 10% discount will be available.
